We’re a Church that believes it’s more important who we invite to heaven than even who we invite to church! Here’s what I mean; it’s great when you get a chance to invite a friend to church, but it’s even better when you get a chance to show the love of Christ to a neighbor, co-worker or even a family member; and see them develop a relationship with Jesus, as their Lord and Savior. We want to focus on how to show the love of God to an un-churched world; than just trying to see how many people we can get to our church. Our vision is taken directly from the Word of God using three critical verses:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…" (Matthew 28:19-20a NIV)
"‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.’" (Mark 12:30-31 NIV)
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2 NIV)
Out of these verses, comes our goal to love God, love people and be equipped to share God’s love through knowing and loving His Word. Baybrook Baptist Church (BBC) embraces the truth that one cannot be a faithful disciple of Christ without accepting as part of that identity the missio Dei- the sending of God. The difference is incarnational versus attractional. We desire to demonstrate God’s love to others, where they are; instead of always expecting others to come to us. We invite you to be part of this journey.
